1st Restaurateur Forum: Building a Competitive, Innovative and Sustainable Restaurant Sector

On 16 February 2026, the Chamber of Commerce of Terrassa will host the 1st Restaurateur Forum: Building a Competitive, Innovative and Sustainable Restaurant Sector, a face-to-face training event aimed at supporting the transformation of the HORECA sector. The training is organised within the framework of the EE4HORECA project, co-funded by the European Union.

The forum is designed for key stakeholders across the HORECA value chain, including restaurant owners and managers, suppliers and distributors, sectoral associations, public authorities, and business support organisations. It particularly targets establishments committed to strengthening their competitiveness by becoming more sustainable, energy-efficient, innovative and socially responsible.

In line with the objectives of the EE4HORECA project, the training focuses on accompanying the HORECA sector in its transition towards a more sustainable, resilient and competitive business model. The session will address current challenges, such as rising energy and operational costs, increasing regulatory pressure, skills and talent shortages, and fragmented business structures. At the same time, it will highlight concrete opportunities linked to energy efficiency, digitalisation and sustainable innovation.

Through expert contributions and practical case studies, participants will explore energy efficiency measures, strategies to reduce the environmental footprint of HORECA establishments, and actions to prevent food waste. The session will also examine how digital tools and data-driven approaches can improve energy management, enhance operational efficiency, and support better business decision-making across the value chain.
