The session “Connecting Knowledge: the Energy Efficiency Hub and Impawatt” at the EnergyEfficiency4HORECA Final Conference will showcase two key resources that ensure the project’s impact continues well beyond its lifetime. Participants will discover how the Impawatt Platform provides SMEs with access to energy efficiency tools and information. It will also introduce the Energy Efficiency Hub for SMEs, a European repository of LIFE Programme projects.
Replicating and extending the project’s capacity building by the Energy Efficiency Impawatt Platform and the Energy Efficiency Hub for SMEs
To assist companies beyond training events, the Impawatt platform was applied by the project and adapted to its value chain approach. Impawatt Platform is offering more than 200 information and training materials. It is available in 11 member states including a European version and is being applied also by other Life projects.

All EE4HORECA project outcomes supporting SMEs of the whole HORECA value chain are available on the Impawatt platform. Moreover, companies are offered information and training materials about different technologies for building improvement and process optimization but also on energy management and staff motivation. Especially after energy audits, companies can find detailed information on the recommendation made by the audit. Impawatt is addressing various sectors. For registered users Impawatt is offering a pre-selection of materials tailored to the company.
As a first step, companies of the HORECA sector can make use of the self-assessment tool of the platform to assess their energy efficiency status.
Companies that already have an energy efficiency improvement planned can benefit from the financial tool to find adequate funding opportunities.
Furthermore, the platform offers an energy monitoring section where companies keep track on their energy consumption and on successes in terms of energy saving measures on their path towards increased energy efficiency.
During the session a guided tour on all features of the platform will be made. Impawatt will stay alive beyond the project’s lifetime and to keep on providing added value for SMEs and future energy efficiency projects.
Senercon created the platform within the Horizon 2020 project Impawatt and further developed and extended it to further member states during its application in the Life projects EE4SME, EE4HORECA and EcoSMEnergy.

To inform SMEs and stakeholders on a larger scale about activities and services of European project, especially of the Life program, the Energy Efficiency hub for SMEs has been created also by Senercon.
Currently, 18 ongoing or completed projects are introduced in the hub, each with a short project summary page including the sectors and countries targeted and the benefits provided for companies as well as the coordinator contact and project website. In addition, the hub is a repository of projects’ training materials, tools, platforms and services for SMEs which are available in the Materials section of the hub. To facilitate the use of the hub, it contains filter engines to find adequate projects and materials, like the Impawatt platform. The hub is open for further projects and their materials and services for SMEs.
