On 21 January, Unioncamere del Veneto, Università degli Studi di Brescia, and Fenice Energy promoted the “Sustainable Business Models & Financing Energy Efficiency” training session.
The webinar highlighted that energy consumption in the sector is not limited to core HORECA activities. It also involves other key players, and identifying these energy hotspots allows companies to focus on the most relevant phases, making energy efficiency strategies operationally sustainable.
The session explained the role of energy audits and presented a real case study demonstrating how structured monitoring can begin even without advanced sensors, using utility bills and simple indicators such as nightly or indoor consumption patterns. The webinar also offered an overview of energy efficiency measures, emphasizing that not all interventions require significant investments. Alongside technological upgrades, management, organizational, and behavioral measures—often at no cost—such as optimizing temperature set points, maintaining plant systems, and staff training, play a crucial role in improving efficiency.
Finally, the project’s tools, available on the IMPAWAT platform, were presented. These tools support companies in assessing energy consumption and environmental impacts across the supply chain while also considering the non-energy benefits of efficiency interventions.
